ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village - Complete Village Overhaul
ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village (CTOV) is a modification that dramatically transforms the Minecraft world by adding diverse and improved villages, as well as pillager outposts. The mod is available for Forge and Fabric, and works seamlessly with most mods affecting world generation and structures.
CTOV offers players 23 unique village variants and 14 types of pillager outposts. Each structure is carefully adapted to specific biomes, landscapes, and the overall atmosphere of your Minecraft world, creating a harmonious and natural environment.
Important Version Information
The mod will not be ported to versions below 1.18.2 for the mod and 1.17 for the datapack. If you're playing on older versions of Minecraft, using CTOV is not possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to update CTOV?
Yes, updating to new versions is safe. However, if you encounter any issues, report them to the mod author for resolution.
Can CTOV be added to an existing world?
Yes, but new structures will only appear in freshly generated chunks.
Which mod loaders is it available for?
CTOV works on Forge, Fabric, and Quilt.
How to find new structures?
Use the /locate command:
- For version 1.18.2:
/locate ctov:[structure_name] - For versions 1.19+:
/locate structure ctov:[structure_name]
A list of available structures can be found in the CTOV documentation.
Does CTOV modify vanilla structures?
In older versions, the mod changes regular villages. In new versions, CTOV creates its own structures separate from vanilla ones.
What about loot from structures?
Most structures use standard loot tables for better compatibility with other mods. However, some structures have unique loot for better world integration. You'll find standard loot from pillager outposts, profession chests in villages, bells and workstations, as well as new food, armor, and other useful items.
How to report bugs or suggest improvements?
Create an issue in the CTOV repository on GitHub or message the author on Discord.
Can CTOV be included in modpacks?
Yes, but be sure to credit the author and provide a link to their page.
Author Support
The author does not accept commissions or monetary support, as this is done as a hobby.
Compatibility with Other Mods
CTOV is compatible with most mods affecting world generation and structures. The mod uses standard biome tags, so practically all world generation mods like Terralith, Oh Biome You'll Go, and Biomes O'plenty will have appropriate CTOV villages in their biomes.
Structure mods like Town&Tower and Repurposed structures also work well with CTOV. However, be cautious when using too many mods, as this can cause instability. The same applies to Better Village.
Any other mods not affecting villages and villagers are compatible by default. Mods adding new villagers will require compatibility packs, which can be found on CurseForge.
Generally, CTOV is compatible with most mods. If compatibility isn't available yet, it will be added. You can suggest additional mods for integration in the Issues section on GitHub.
