Cursed Earth

What is this mod?

Adds a special block to the game that actively spawns mobs in dark areas. You get numerous configuration options to control this process.

To create cursed earth, you need to sneak and use a wither rose on regular dirt (this action can be disabled in settings).

If you have Unstable Tools mod installed, the block can also be obtained through a special division sign ritual.

Main Features

If you sneak and right-click the block with an empty hand, you'll see a list of mobs that can spawn on this earth. This is particularly useful for structures with special spawning conditions, such as witch huts and nether fortresses.

Mod Settings

• Minimum time between spawns: from 50 ticks (default)
• Maximum time between spawns: up to 250 ticks (default)
• Mob limit: mob spawning stops when reaching 250 creatures (configurable)
• Mob blacklist: certain mobs won't spawn from cursed earth
• Destruction in sunlight: block disappears under sunlight (enabled by default)
• Natural spread: block can expand naturally in darkness (enabled by default)
• Spawn distance: mobs only start spawning when player is at least 1 block away
• Creation item: wither rose is used to transform dirt into cursed version
