Cursed Respawn Anchor

This datapack fundamentally alters the standard respawn mechanics in your Minecraft world, transforming the game's starting process into a genuine challenge.

Once the pack is activated, all players' spawn points are permanently fixed to a cursed Crying Obsidian block located exclusively in the Nether. Normal methods of changing spawn points become ineffective—you cannot relocate it using a bed or other means until the curse is lifted.

To restore normal respawning, you must destroy the cursed block, which requires a diamond or netherite pickaxe. This automatically turns the search for these rare resources into a crucial objective.

How gameplay unfolds

Your adventure begins directly in the Nether. The goal is to escape this dangerous dimension, find diamonds in the Overworld, craft a sturdy pickaxe, and then return to permanently destroy the source of the curse.

A key feature of this pack is that the enchanted respawn anchor never loses its power—it functions indefinitely until you destroy it. Once the block is broken, all players can respawn in the Overworld and once again use beds and other methods to set their spawn points.
