Custom Stars [Forge] - Starry Sky Customization
This client-side mod provides complete control over the appearance of the starry sky in Minecraft. You can customize the size, quantity, and color of stars, as well as End sky parameters.
Main Features
The mod allows fine-tuning of the visual representation of the night sky:
Star Size and Quantity
- Base Size (default: 0.15) - basic star size
- Max Size Multiplier (default: 0.1) - determines maximum star size. Value of 0 makes all stars the same size
- Star Count (default: 1500) - total number of displayed stars
- Star Brightness (default: 1.0) - overall brightness of the starry sky
Star Distribution
- Star Noise (default: false) - enable/disable using noise map for star distribution
- Noise Seed (default: 10842) - initial value for noise generator
- Noise Threshold (default: 0.5) - determines star distribution density. Higher values create more clustered groups
- Noise Percentage (default: 50) - ratio between noise-distributed and randomly positioned stars
Star Colors
- Color Type (default: SINGLE) - SINGLE (one color), RANDOM (random colors), or CUSTOM (colors from custom list)
- Single Color - RGBA values for single-colored stars
- Custom Colors - list of RGBA values for CUSTOM type
Moon and Sky
- Moon Deadzone (default: false) - prevents stars from appearing on moon texture
- Deadzone Shape (default: SQUARE) - SQUARE or CIRCLE
- Deadzone Size (default: 5.0) - size of area around moon
- Night Sky Color - RGB components (0-255) for sky color
End Sky
- Size Multiplier (default: 1.0) - multiplier for End sky texture size (0.0-1.0)
- End Sky Color - RGB components (default: 40,40,40)
- Alpha (default: 1.0) - brightness multiplier for End sky
Classic Settings
To recreate stars from pre-1.3.1 versions use:
- Base Size: 0.25
- Max Size Multiplier: 0.25
- Leave other parameters at default
Settings are available through config/customstars.json file. Cloth Config is required for the mod to work.
