Customizable Artillery MOD

Artillery in Minecraft

Add powerful artillery to your Minecraft world with this mod that allows you to create and customize your own artillery installations.

Crafting Artillery

Crafting Scheme

The crafting system in this mod requires careful attention. The process consists of several stages:

Gun Barrel

Start by crafting a basic barrel from six iron ingots. You can increase the caliber (from 50 to 300, 6 levels) and barrel length (from 100 to 1600, 16 levels) by sequentially connecting parts. Then combine the finished barrel with a cauldron to create a cannon. Additionally, you can craft an automatic loader.

Chassis

Create tracks from an iron block and eight iron bars. Next, craft a carriage from three weighted pressure plates and two iron ingots - there are improved versions that speed up gun aiming. Assemble the chassis from the carriage and two tracks. Optionally add an engine for increased mobility.

Artillery Assembly

Combine the cannon and chassis to get a full-fledged artillery installation.

Additional Options

Strengthen your installation's armor with special plates. Also available is a camouflage system using various materials:

  • No camouflage: standard design (gray dye)
  • Urban: stone
  • Woodland: leaves
  • Desert: sand or sandstone
  • Snow: snowballs or snow blocks

Performance

Performance Dependencies

Barrel parameters directly affect combat qualities:

  • Larger caliber allows shooting bigger projectiles but reduces reload speed, accuracy and mobility
  • Longer barrel increases projectile speed and shooting accuracy but decreases movement speed
  • Improved carriage speeds up gun aiming
  • Powerful engine increases movement speed
  • Thick armor protects against slow attacks but slows down the installation
  • Camouflage doesn't affect characteristics

Usage

After placing the artillery, right-click to take control.

Press R key to open the reloading interface and view installation information.

Control Interface

  • Ammo Window: displays loaded ammunition (can only be taken)
  • Ammo Slots: for storing unloaded ammunition (automatic loading)
  • Gunpowder Window: shows loaded gunpowder (can only be taken)
  • Gunpowder Slots: for storing unloaded gunpowder (automatic loading)
  • Fuel Slot: required for installations with engine (any furnace fuel works)
  • Info: technical data of the artillery

To shoot, right-click while controlling. Artillery can shoot any blocks and items that can be fired from dispensers, including modded items.

Examples: TNT, arrows, fire charges, creepers (using spawn eggs), lava (in bucket), stones, bamboo spears, shells and much more.

Dependencies

Requires installed Minecraft Forge.

Useful Tips

  • Large projectiles fly slower than small ones
  • Mobs can control artillery and shoot
  • Artillery can ride on minecarts
  • Installations are treated as animals and susceptible to potion effects
  • Arrow damage depends on ejection speed
  • TNT can be used instead of gunpowder
  • Decoration with banners and symbols available
  • Large/fast objects are more effective against armor
  • Armor doesn't protect from fire and lava
  • Can hit driver even through armor (damage reduced)
  • Instant health potion restores artillery health
  • Can be named using name tag
  • Can build by shooting blocks (requires lots of gunpowder)
  • New gunpowder recipe added (can be disabled in settings)

Gunpowder Recipe

Known Issues

  • Standard recipe book is inconvenient
  • Shot blocks sometimes disappear (not recommended to shoot diamond blocks)

Planned Updates

  • Adding stationary cannons
  • Model improvements
  • Multi-barrel cannons (similar to minigun)
