Dank Storage Fabric
Mod Overview
Dank Storage Fabric introduces a unique container system for item storage in Minecraft. These containers function simultaneously as stationary storage units, portable backpacks, and even construction tools, making them a versatile solution for various gameplay situations.
Main Containers
The mod adds 7 different container tiers that differ in capacity and slot count. Each tier is immediately recognizable by its color:
- Black (tier 1): 9 slots × 256 items each
- Red (tier 2): 18 slots × 1024 items
- Gold (tier 3): 27 slots × 4096 items
- Green (tier 4): 36 slots × 16384 items
- Cyan (tier 5): 45 slots × 65536 items
- Purple (tier 6): 54 slots × 262144 items
- Rainbow (tier 7): 81 slots × Integer.MAX_VALUE items
Each slot can hold significantly more items than a typical Minecraft stack, with capacity increasing with each new tier.

Two Operating Modes
The containers operate in two primary modes that can be easily switched between using a dedicated keybinding while holding the container.
Backpack Mode
In this mode, the container functions as a classic backpack. Holding Shift while hovering the mouse displays contained items (limited to 10 items to avoid cluttering the screen).
Right-clicking opens an interface with several useful functions:
- Sort - arranges items from largest to smallest quantity
- Tag Unification - automatically converts compatible items into existing types using Minecraft's tag system
- Auto-pickup - with keybinding assigned, automatically collects matching dropped items
Warning! Using third-party inventory sorters is not recommended as they may work incorrectly and even lead to item loss.
Container Dock
For convenient usage, the mod includes a special stand called "Dock." Containers can be placed on these docks, making them accessible for interaction with various transport systems including hoppers, droppers, and popular mods like Simple Storage Network, Refined Storage, and Applied Energistics 2.
The dock can be broken with any tool but works fastest with a pickaxe. Sneak right-clicking with an empty hand removes the container without breaking the dock itself.

Construction Mode
This is where things get really interesting! In this mode, the container cannot be placed down and glows like an enchanted item.
Container slots become available for quick use when right-clicking - this works with blocks, food, potions, tools, and many other items. Shift + mouse wheel combination allows quick switching between slots.

Additional Features
Slot Locking
Slots can be locked, marking them with a red background and preventing the last item from being extracted by mechanical means or manually. This feature is perfect for creating filters in automation systems.

Upgrade System
Ability to upgrade container tiers directly in the dock without needing to remove and manually upgrade them.
Data Handling and Safety
Containers display the amount of data they currently store. If this exceeds several million, the player may be disconnected from the server (known as "book banning"). Configuration includes an option to limit data transmission with some associated restrictions.
Unwanted items can be blacklisted to prevent their accidental storage.
The mod supports tag systems for flexible functionality customization according to specific modpack needs.
