Dated Draughts

The Dated Draughts modification offers players a unique opportunity to bring back mechanics into Minecraft that were changed or removed by developers in subsequent versions of the game. This mod adds special potions and game rules that restore old interaction systems with the world.

Returning to Roots

One of the key features of the mod is the Uncraving effect, which completely restores the food system from early versions of Minecraft. With this effect, the hunger bar and sprinting ability disappear, and consuming food directly restores health. For permanent use of this mechanic, activate the game rule dated_draughts:beta_food.

Creating an Uncraving potion requires Thick Potions and "Cooked Beta Porkchops". To get a "Beta Porkchop", craft regular pork with cobblestone in a crafting table, then cook it in a furnace.

Combat System from the Past

The Dextrous effect brings back the classic combat mechanics of bygone times. With it, the offhand is disabled, it becomes possible to block attacks using a sword, and the delay between strikes disappears. For global application, use the rule dated_draughts:old_combat.

Create a Dextrous potion by combining Thick Potions with a Stone Sword.

Water Mechanics from the Past

The Nonaquatic effect disables modern swimming animations and returns the oxygen system to its original form - the bar refills instantly when surfacing. For permanent activation, set the rule dated_draughts:old_water.

For the Nonaquatic potion, you'll need Thick Potions and "Cooked Beta Fish". Get "Beta Fish" by crafting salmon or cod with cobblestone, then cook it.

Universal Control

All three effects can be simultaneously enabled or disabled with one universal rule dated_draughts:enable_all, allowing quick switching between modern and classic gameplay experiences.
