Death Back-Up: Inventory Backup System

Death Back-Up is a simple yet effective system that automatically creates backup copies of player inventory contents, abilities, and other data upon each death. This feature is particularly useful in cases where standard in-game recovery tools fail or technical issues occur.

When a character dies (whether in single-player or multiplayer), the system creates a special backup file. All such files are saved in a separate "death-backups" folder located in the current world's directory. Each file receives a unique name that includes the player's name, a hexadecimal timestamp, and a regular timestamp based on server time.

Data recovery is performed by server administrators using a special command: /db restore <player> <timestamp>. Please note: recovery is only possible for players who are currently online. To simplify the selection of required parameters, the command includes an autocomplete feature via the Tab key - it allows sequential cycling through both online players and available backup timestamps.

It's worth noting that timestamps in autocomplete are usually sorted in reverse chronological order, so accessing older backup copies may require pressing Tab several times. The timestamp format is as follows: YEAR-MONTH-DAY-HOUR-MINUTE-SECOND, for example: 2012-10-15-18-20-35.
