📖 About the Modification

The Death Finder mod significantly simplifies the search for lost items after death in Minecraft. It adds exact death location coordinates both to the respawn screen and death messages, so you always know exactly where to go for your items.

📚 Main Features

Death Coordinates Display

The death screen now displays the exact location of your death. Every death message includes coordinates, dimension, and distance from your current position to the death location.

Teleportation to Death Location

Server operators can instantly teleport to the death location by simply clicking on the coordinates in the death message. This feature is also available for regular players, but with limitations: teleportation works only within 5 minutes after death and only to your most recent death location.

Extended Death Notifications

The mod shows death messages for villagers and named entities. There's also an option to enable death notifications for any entities (disabled by default), which works together with blacklist and whitelist. Death messages for players and pets can be separately enabled or disabled.

💡 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I configure this mod? A: In-game configuration editing has not been implemented yet. Instead, while in a world, run the /config showfile <modid> command by selecting either CLIENT or SERVER (depending on the mod), then click on the file name (with .toml extension) that appears in chat to manually edit the configuration file in a separate editor. After saving the file, the configuration will automatically reload in-game after a few seconds, so no game restart is required.
