Funeral Ink is a versatile block that can be placed on any solid surfaces. It slows down entities and prevents running. Particularly useful is that ink can be placed on water, allowing squids to walk on water surfaces.

Sun Effigy is created through crafting: a sunflower is placed in the center of a cross made of gold blocks. If this item is thrown into Funeral Ink, a solar eclipse occurs.

Totem of Uncleansing is a special type of totem dropped by Evokers if killed while holding a Sun Effigy. This totem allows the player to transform into a squid after death for 5 minutes.

Squid Transformation

The player receives a new effect that transforms them into an ink creature inspired by Splatoon. Squids feel much more comfortable on Funeral Ink than outside of it.

The hunger mechanic is replaced with slow passive regeneration. Running is unavailable, but instead a new ability appears - Diving:

• Activated by the sprint key
• Makes the user invulnerable to most types of damage (except falling out of the world and explosions)
• Protects from attacks by hostile mobs with basic AI
• Provides fast health regeneration
• Allows squids to spread Funeral Ink, including on water

Any fall damage automatically activates dive mode.

Eclipse and Black Rain

The eclipse is activated by immersing a Sun Effigy in Funeral Ink and lasts 2 hours. While the eclipse is active, squids constantly have their transformation effect timer refreshed. Funeral Ink gradually spreads around squids.
