Deformation Dimension - Endgame Dungeon Experience in Minecraft

This datapack introduces a unique dungeon-like dimension called Deformation, designed for experienced Minecraft players. It combines elements of classic roguelike games with new trial mechanics from Minecraft 1.21. The standard elytras on End City ships have been replaced with a special portal that transports you to a procedurally generated dungeon when activated.
Features and Gameplay
The journey through the Deformation dimension includes various challenges:
- Combat with mobs and custom mini-bosses
- Simple parkour and puzzle solving
- Unique dungeon layout generation each time you enter
To obtain elytras, players must navigate through several challenge rooms and reach the dungeon's central area. This transforms elytra acquisition into a full-fledged adventure!
End Fever Effect
The gameplay mechanic "End Fever" limits elytra usage in the End dimension. Symptoms can be reduced by regularly consuming milk or finding rare enchantments within the Deformation dungeons. This adds strategic depth and makes collecting multiple elytra sets more challenging.

Technical Recommendations
Although the datapack functions completely without additional mods, for the full visual experience it's recommended to install OptiFine, Fabulously Optimized, or the following mods:
- Continuity - displays unique block textures (CTM functionality) -Implements the CTM feature
- Entity Texture Features - shows custom mob textures -Implements the Random Entities feature
- Entity Model Features - adds custom creature models -Implements the CEM feature
- MoreMcmeta/Animatica - supports animated textures -Implements the Custom Animations feature - two mods have identical functionality, but MoreMcmeta is significantly more optimized, multiplatform and gets updates faster
- Disable Custom Worlds Advice - removes custom worlds warning
Performance and Optimization
The datapack is well-optimized and has minimal performance impact due to thoughtful coding with limited use of heavy selectors and NBT manipulations.
Code comments show careful optimization approach
Performance test results:
Singleplayer: performance difference is within margin of error
Multiplayer 10 players: minimal server load increase
Performance comparison screenshots:
- Vanilla vs datapack performance charts with 1 player
- Multiplayer server statistics with 10 players in different scenarios
- Results show datapack players in deformation dimension actually place less load than overworld players
Note: Entering the dimension generates new dungeons, which may cause 1-2 seconds of lag temporarily.
Compatibility
Deformation Dimension follows modern datapack standards and maintains high compatibility with most mods and other datapacks, including shader mods. Issues are only possible with extremely specific modifications that directly alter End City ship structure templates.
