Delayed Despawn Datapack for Minecraft 1.21+

This data pack is compatible with Minecraft versions 1.21 and 1.21.1.

📖 What is it?

Have you ever been exploring caves and gotten blown up by a Creeper? Did you lose all your items even though you returned within 5 minutes? This data pack solves exactly that problem!

📝 Main Features

This lightweight data pack increases the default despawn time of dropped items from 5 to 10 minutes, making them much easier to find and retrieve.

Future updates plan to add a feature that will make items close to despawning glow and/or emit sound to help locate them more easily. However, this feature will not be available in version 1.0.0.

❗ Important Information

Using this data pack may cause additional lag on servers, as the 10-minute timer applies to all dropped items, not just those lost by players upon death.

📂 Installation

For proper functionality, the data pack must be installed in the correct directory.

The correct file path is: saves/[world]/datapacks
