Demi's Better Stealth
In the standard version of Minecraft, there are already elements of stealth mechanics, but they are quite limited in practical use. For example, crawling only reduces mob detection range by 20%.
This modification completely overhauls the stealth system, adding many new factors that affect your concealment.
Main Features
Movement style matters:
- Walking instead of running reduces detection range by 25%
- Standing still or sneaking decreases visibility by a full 50%
Environment and positioning:
- Tall grass hides you 50% more effectively
- If a mob is facing away, it spots you twice as poorly
Magical enhancements and equipment:
- "Stealth" enchantment for armor: each level reduces detection by 4%
- Important: this enchantment is incompatible with "Protection"
- Blindness effect on mobs reduces their pursuit range by 50%
- Invisibility effect has become more realistic: its effectiveness depends on the amount of armor worn (from 93% to 30%)
Balance and Limitations
Not all conditions favor stealth. The system accounts for opposing situations:
- "Glowing" effect completely cancels the advantages of stealth mechanics
- After attacking a mob, you remain easily detectable to it for 10 seconds
All factors stack with diminishing returns. For example, when sneaking behind a mob, the total reduction is 75%.
Technical Capabilities
Added a special attribute betterstealth:stealth (default 0), which can be used in modpacks to create "rogue" class items.
Full customization: All values can be adjusted to your preferences.
Compatibility: The mod doesn't change mob behavior and works perfectly with other modifications.
