Desert Storms
Immersion in the World of Sandstorms
The Desert Storms modification fundamentally transforms Minecraft's desert biomes by adding a realistic weather system. You'll encounter multi-phase sandstorms that bring new challenges and atmospheric effects to the gameplay. Experience the full power of nature when powerful winds, blinding lightning, and dangerous environmental conditions turn desert survival into a true test of endurance.
Key Features
Five-Level Storm System Sandstorms develop gradually, starting with light winds and reduced visibility, giving players time to find shelter. As the storm intensifies, fatigue effects and moderate damage are added. At peak intensity, storms unleash gale-force winds, frequent lightning strikes, and armor damage, creating extreme survival conditions.
Visual and Audio Effects During severe storms, dynamic lightning strikes are accompanied by screen shake effects, the intensity of which depends on distance from the strike and storm strength. Blinding lightning flashes and synchronized thunderclaps create an incredibly realistic atmosphere.
Realistic Wind Physics Players and mobs are affected by wind currents that can push them aside. Wind direction and strength smoothly change depending on the storm phase and protection level. Crouching reduces wind impact on movement.
Smart Integration The mod is compatible with Sodium(Rubidium) Extra and automatically adjusts fog settings during storms. Works excellently in multiplayer and affects only desert and badlands biomes.
Gameplay
Storms naturally progress through various phases, each lasting from 15 to 45 minutes depending on intensity. The weather can either intensify to maximum power or gradually calm down.
Survival requires careful balance between exploration and preparation. Full armor sets, reliable shelters, and understanding wind patterns become critically important. Storms affect visibility, movement, health, hunger, and equipment durability.
