DisenchantingFabric
The DisenchantingFabric mod adds a special block called the Disenchanter to Minecraft, which allows you to remove enchantments from items and transfer them to books. This tool opens up new possibilities for managing enchanted items in your game world.
Core Functionality
The Disenchanter sequentially removes enchantments from items, starting with the first one, and creates corresponding enchanted books. When using the Shift+click combination on the output book, the device will automatically attempt to transfer all available enchantments to prepared books, provided you have sufficient experience and books to cover the costs.
Version 2.1.0 New Features
The latest update introduced an enchantment blacklist system through datapacks. You can now prohibit the removal of specific vanilla or modded enchantments (such as curses). Curse enchantments from the standard set are already included in the blacklist by default.
Usage Process
- Place an enchanted item in the left slot
- Add a book or stack of books to the center slot
- An enchanted book with the first enchantment from the item will appear in the right slot
- When retrieving the book, the corresponding enchantment is removed from the original item
Crafting Recipe
To create the Disenchanter you need:
- 1 anvil
- 1 enchantment table
- 2 gold ingots
- 3 obsidian

Configuration Settings
The mod offers a flexible configuration system through the config file:
- requiresExperience: Determines whether experience is required for the disenchanting process
- costSlider: Adjusts the relative experience cost of usage (scale from 1 to 10, where lower values mean lower costs)
- randomEnchantment: When activated, allows selecting a random enchantment from the item (added in version 1.4)
- resetCost: Resets the item's anvil work cost to zero (added in version 2.0.0)
- damageItem: Determines whether the item receives damage during the disenchanting process (added in version 2.1.0)
- damagePercent: Sets the percentage of damage the item receives with each enchantment removal (default 5%, added in version 2.1.0)
