dreamCritting's cave update
This mod adds a massive cave dimension and also alters the caves in the overworld! You'll discover numerous new stone types, several additional ores, a new boss, and more dungeons.
Important note: This project is no longer supported and will likely not receive updates. The author has created another cave mod (Infinite Abyss) that's available for later game versions and contains significantly more content.
How to reach the cave dimension
To access the massive cave dimension, craft a Bedrock Miner and use it on the lowest layer of bedrock in the overworld. Then jump into the black portal it creates. Make sure you have free space in your hotbar for a special item you'll receive - you'll need it! The bedrock miner also functions as a diamond pickaxe.
Returning to the overworld
You can return by using the pickaxe on layer 127 in the cave dimension, but BE CAREFUL - place some blocks 2 blocks above the portal in the overworld, otherwise you might get stuck in a loop of falling into portals immediately after appearing. It's also recommended to bring fire resistance potions in case you return into lava.
Crafting and materials
Dark stone can be crafted into cobblestone.
Bosses and mobs
Blaze King
This boss strongly resembles mob D from the list of possible mobs considered for version 1.13 (the Phantom won). It spawns in the cave dimension, so be cautious when exploring.

- Rarity: uncommon - best avoided without good gear

- Drop: Blaze King helmet (better than diamond)
Cavepig

- Rarity: common, but only found on cave floors
- Armor: 0 points
- Drops: pork chops
Jellyfish

- Damage: 6
- Attacks: melee combat

- Rarity: common, but only in water (which is scarce)
- Armor: 0 points
- Drops: raw fish
