Dreamwoods

Dreamwoods is a comprehensive Minecraft mod that completely transforms the game world by adding 61 new unique biomes and radically changing most standard biomes. All biomes are carefully distributed across 7 main climate zones: cold snowy, boreal and taiga, autumnal and temperate, mild temperate, warm temperate, cool subtropical, and the large tropical zone. Each zone includes plateaus, mountain and hill biomes, as well as swampy areas that smoothly transition into each other, creating realistic climate transitions.

Main Features of the Mod

  • 61 new biomes + complete overhaul of most standard biomes
  • Many new plants and flowers, including aquatic plants and vines
  • Flowers and saplings in pots
  • Various tree species with unique trunks and foliage
  • Flowering and autumnal foliage particles
  • Building blocks from new wood types, including beautiful doors
  • Saplings for most custom trees and reworked standard trees
  • Clay dirt as an additional source of clay
  • All trees in standard and custom biomes have become larger and more realistic
  • Flowers in each biome have been adapted to make the world more vibrant
  • Superflat presets use standard settings, while Default, Large Biomes, and Amplified use Dreamwoods biomes

Giant Purple, Green, and Pink Shrooms

Blocks of mushroom stems and caps can be used as fuel or crafted into the corresponding dye.

Giant Horsetail

Grows in Mushroom Fields. Drops horsetail sticks when broken. The top block with a cone drops Giant Horsetail Cone - a sapling.

Horsetail Sticks

Can replace sticks in recipes and as fuel.

Bamboo Tree

Use shovel with right-click to collect it. Compostable.

Technical Requirements

The mod requires Oh The Trees You Grow version 1.3.4 to work. Newer versions have serious bugs that still need to be fixed. Make sure you have enough space for huge trees to grow from saplings! With version 1.3.4 or older, trees destroy all blocks in their path, which is very dangerous for buildings.

Versions

Vanilla editions will be available in 1.20.1 in the first release, then in 1.21.1 for Forge, Neoforge, and Fabric. The full edition will be released on Forge 1.20.1 first. Version 1.21.1 will be released later on Forge or Neoforge.

Known Issues

  • Bug with old Oh The Trees You Grow versions (<=1.3.4) where trees destroy other trees and structures in their path
  • Several trees will not have decaying leaves due to their structure, such as palms, weeping willows, or rooty bushes
  • For the vanilla edition, some trees may consist of non-natural blocks, such as ashen volcano trees. Some biomes may not be included in the vanilla edition because they cannot be properly made without modded blocks.
