Ductwork

Ductwork represents an innovative item distribution system in Minecraft built on the concept of air ducts. This mod offers an efficient alternative to standard hoppers with improved performance and usage flexibility.

Main Features

The mod includes three specialized blocks that together create a powerful item movement network. The Ductwork system provides stable resource transfer comparable to regular hoppers but with lower game resource consumption. This makes the mod an ideal solution for complex sorting systems and automated mechanisms.

Block Types

Duct

The main network element that accepts items from five adjacent sides and transfers them in the direction it's facing. Ducts cannot be locked and do not extract items from other blocks, minimizing performance load.

Damper

A specialized duct that accepts items from behind and transfers them forward. The damper can be locked using redstone, temporarily stopping item movement. Players can also temporarily lock or unlock the damper by pressing Shift+RMB with an empty hand.

Collector

A unique block that sucks items from inventory or space behind it, similar to a hopper, but with the ability to be oriented in any direction. The collector transfers items from its inventory to the block in front of it.

System Usage

Placing Ductwork blocks is similar to placing hoppers in Minecraft. Aim at the block where items should be delivered and place the Ductwork block. The block will "face" the target block, determining the direction of item movement.

For convenience, it's recommended to start building from the network's endpoint (where items are received) and move toward the starting point (where items come from). Ductwork blocks can be reoriented without breaking and replacing them.

Limited Capabilities Mode

For players preferring standard hopper functionality, there's an option to limit Ductwork capabilities through the configuration file (on server) or mod menu (in client). This makes the mod attractive for server administrators wanting to maintain vanilla experience with improved performance.
