Edgerunner

The Edgerunner mod brings back to the game the feature that allowed players to receive effects from the block directly beneath the character's feet, rather than from the block they're actually standing on.

This mechanic was fixed by the developers in update 23w18a, although it was originally considered a bug and existed in Minecraft for over 10 years. Despite technical incorrectness, many players appreciated this nuance and didn't want it removed.

Now you can once again use this interesting feature with various blocks, including soul sand, magma blocks, slime blocks, honey blocks, ice, and others.

Configuration

The functionality is implemented through a game rule that's easily configured using in-game commands.

To enable the feature:

/gamerule edgerunner true

To disable it:

/gamerule edgerunner false
