Eerie Hauntings
This mod was created for the Spooky Jam 2021 competition! Eerie Hauntings adds ghosts to the Minecraft world that directly haunt players, causing auditory hallucinations and applying negative effects. Spirits can be exorcised to obtain materials for creating enhancements, protective gear, and special equipment. The mod is inspired by games like Ghost Hunters Corp and Phasmophobia.
How It Works
Every night, there's a small chance that one of the players will be hunted by a ghost. Killing mobs increases the chances of becoming a target. If no one bothers you during the night, the probability resets to the base level. Otherwise, the spirit will begin actively interfering with your gameplay.
To determine the method of exorcism for a specific ghost, you'll need to use an EMF counter and an old radio. It's crucial to choose the right tool for the ritual - using the wrong item may anger the spirit!
Key Features
- Collect evidence by holding an EMF counter or old radio in your main hand
- When the device activates and a visual message appears in the action bar, it means the ghost is causing interference
- Unless easy mode is enabled, be sure to use the correct exorcism method (specified in the item description) or you risk angering the spirit
- An angered spirit will more frequently apply negative effects against the player until sunrise
- During the day, spirits can only cause auditory hallucinations
- Strong negative effects are accompanied by special visual distortions that can be disabled in client settings
- The mod offers numerous configuration options for pack creators and server owners to customize ghostly experiences
Can it be added to modpacks?
Yes, absolutely!
