Electric Advantage

Electric Advantage is an extension for the Power Advantage mod that introduces electrical technology to Minecraft. This addon expands gameplay possibilities by adding a rock crusher, electric furnace, food oven, batteries, laser turret, automated crafter, and many other devices.

Electricity Generation

The mod offers three main methods for generating electricity: photovoltaic solar panels, hydroelectric turbines, and steam turbines. Combined with conveyor systems from Power Advantage, you can create fully automated factories that will mine resources, smelt ores, craft items, and even defend against zombies and creepers.

Requirements

Electric Advantage requires the Base Metals and Power Advantage mods. The Steam Advantage mod is recommended but not required.

Getting Started

Electric machines require significant amounts of plastic, copper, and steel, as well as small amounts of sand, tin, and lead. Before you begin electrifying your world, you'll need to mine for copper, iron, and coal, and also establish a potato farm.

After gathering sufficient plastic (produced by processing potatoes into starch and then smelting it) and several dozen copper and steel ingots, you can begin creating your first Power Supply Unit (PSU). Every electric machine includes a PSU in its crafting recipe.

To create a PSU, first craft copper plates (three ingots in a row yield three plates) and combine them with plastic ingots to create blank circuit boards. Then mix coal dust (crushed coal) with sand to obtain silicon ingots, which are used to create microchips.

Combine a circuit board, microchip, and solder (alloy of lead and tin) to create a control circuit. Finally, combine the control circuit with a steel plate and two wires (made from 6 plastic ingots and 3 copper ingots) to create the PSU.

After creating several PSUs, you can proceed to craft electric generators and machines. The images show recipes for the hydroelectric turbine (an excellent generator for beginners) and the automated assembler (which will help you create additional PSUs).
