Enchancement
Enchancement is a comprehensive modification that fundamentally changes the standard enchanting system in Minecraft, also affecting related game mechanics.
New Enchantments
The mod adds 34 unique and interesting enchantments distributed across different types of equipment:
Helmets
- Assimilation — automatically consumes food when hungry, prioritizing items in the left hand. Speeds up consumption of food and drinks.
- Perception — improves visibility in the dark and allows seeing mobs through walls.
- Veil — reduces monster detection range and hides your name behind obstacles.
Chestplates
- Adrenaline — increases movement speed and reduces damage taken proportional to missing health.
- Amphibious — speeds up resource gathering and movement underwater, reduces air consumption and burning time. Instantly extinguishes fire and allows using Riptide for some time after leaving water.
- Strafe — pressing Left Shift (configurable) launches you in your movement direction.
- Wardenspine — damages and blinds attackers, significantly reducing damage from behind.
Leggings
- Dash — pressing Left Control (configurable) in the air launches you forward.
- Gale — allows performing additional jumps in the air. Holding Space (configurable) enables brief gliding.
- Slide — holding Left Control (configurable) on the ground causes constant sliding. Pressing in the air results in slamming to the ground, knocking back mobs and negating fall damage.
Boots
- Buoy — allows walking on fluids, descending by sneaking. Holding jump while submerged rapidly propels upward. Prevents floating. Grants a temporary speed boost after leaving water.
- Bouncy — negates fall damage. Launches upward upon landing without sneaking. Sneaking on the ground charges a super jump.
- Sticky — allows sliding down and jumping off walls. Leaves a trail of honey that slows mobs.
Swords
- Berserk — increases damage dealt proportional to missing health.
- Frostbite — freezes attacked mobs. When killed, turns them into ice statues that can be moved or shattered, releasing shards that freeze other mobs.
Bows
- Chaos — gives arrows a random negative potion effect or positive when sneaking.
- Delay — arrows pause after shooting, building up damage over time. Can be launched prematurely by punching and redirected by sneaking.
- Phasing — removes gravity from arrows and allows passing through blocks, after which gravity returns.
Crossbows
- Brimstone — fires a piercing laser that ignores armor and increases damage with charging and distance. Costs health to fire.
- Scatter — allows loading Amethyst Shards that explode into a burst of projectiles.
- Torch — enables rapid loading of Torches that ignite shot mobs. Torches landing on a block are placed if fired while sneaking. The Crossbow can only load Torches.
Tridents
- Leech — regenerates health when dealing damage. Thrown Tridents temporarily stick to mobs and deal damage.
- Warp — teleports you to the Trident's location if it didn't hit a mob.
Maces
- Meteor — causes smash attacks to ignite attacked mobs and pull them down. Allows charging to launch upward, damaging and igniting nearby mobs.
- Thunderstruck — direct attacks chain to nearby mobs. Allows charging to launch forward and briefly float. Punching while floating causes a dash forward and smash into the ground.
Mining Tools
- Molten — smelts mined blocks. Disabled while sneaking.
Pickaxes
- Extracting — extracts materials from connected ores, leaving the stone behind. Disabled while sneaking.
Axes
- Beheading — slain mobs and players have a chance to drop their head.
- Lumberjack — destroys connected logs. Disabled while sneaking.
Shovels
- Bury — using on a mob buries it if the ground below is soft enough.
- Scooping — deals extra damage and increases mob loot drops.
Hoes
- Apex — deals extra damage. Attacking from a distance always results in a critical hit.
Fishing Rods
- Disarm — steals or disables a latched entity's held item.
- Grapple — allows the Fishing Bobber to latch onto blocks. Launches you towards that block upon release. Reels in entities with more strength.
Settings and Changes
All elements of Enchancement are fully configurable:
Disallowed Enchantments
Removes most standard enchantments from the game. Enchancement aims to make choosing enchantments more engaging by replacing many static improvements with unique abilities.
Enchanting Overhaul
- Replaces the Enchanting Table interface with a new version that removes randomness — you can simply select desired enchantments.
- Enchanting Tables require Chiseled Bookshelves with Enchanted Books to access enchantments.
- Enchanting items has an additional material cost related to the item (e.g., Diamonds for Diamond equipment).
- Bookshelves reduce the cost of enchanting in experience, lapis lazuli, and materials.
- Enchantments can be transferred from enchanted items to books using a grindstone.
- Enchanted Books cannot be applied to tools on an anvil.
- Villagers only sell unenchanted items.
- Librarians sell specific enchanted books related to their biome of origin.
- Various types of Enchanted Books are guaranteed to spawn in specific structures.
Single Level Mode
Removes levels from enchantments, setting the maximum level for all enchantments to 1. Enchantments reduced to this level function as their original maximum-level counterparts.
Enchantment Limit
Restricts items to one enchantment by default. All enchantments have equal weight and are available for selection during generation.
Disable Durability
Removes durability from most aspects of the game. Items in the enchancement:retains_durability tag retain durability. Anvils do not break when used unless they are part of the tag.
Disable Velocity Checks
Removes checks for determining if a player is moving too fast, as Enchancement adds many forms of movement that may trigger them.
