Enchants and Expeditions
Complete Overhaul of Minecraft's Enchanting System
Enchants and Expeditions is a comprehensive project that completely reimagines the enchanting system in vanilla Minecraft. The mod transforms almost everything: enchanting tables, anvils, bookshelves, enchanted books, and the enchantments themselves.

Enchanting Table and New Attribute System
Enchanting Tables now require bookshelves to function and allow re-enchanting already enchanted items up to the established limit. Available enchantments are determined by a new attribute system:
Primary Attributes:
- Mana — classic magic with traditional enchantments
- Frost — ice and cold magic
- Scorch — fire magic
Secondary Attributes:
- Flow — water and movement
- Chaos — unpredictable elemental combinations
- Greed — pursuit of treasures
- Might — pure strength

Bookshelves and Tomes
Standard bookshelves slightly boost all attributes except Corruption and Divinity. Also available:
- Arcane Bookshelf — boosts Mana attributes (crafted with calcite)
- Glacial Bookshelf — boosts Frost attributes (crafted with packed ice)
- Infernal Bookshelf — boosts Scorch attributes (crafted with blackstone)
Altar and Tomes unlock new possibilities. The Altar is crafted from Deepslate and Amethyst and allows placement of Tomes that significantly influence the enchanting process.
Tomes can be found in various structures:
- Tome of Mana — Strongholds
- Tome of Frost — Igloos and Shipwrecks
- Tome of Scorch — Nether Fortresses
- And other locations
Anvil Enhancement
Anvils no longer require experience for item repair and renaming. Combining enchanted items now uses a static formula based on enchantment levels and final result. This means no experience limitations—do whatever you want until reaching the enchantment limit.
Enchanted Books now have durability (4 units), losing 1 per use. They can be repaired with lapis lazuli, making treasure enchantments permanently available.
Core Systems
Experience rebalanced — a new formula maintains levels 1-30 close to vanilla while making higher levels less demanding on experience.
Blessings — opposite of curses, occupying a separate item slot and displayed in golden color.
Customization:
- Limit: maximum of 3 enchantments per item
- All spells scaled to maximum I or III power
- Added enchantment descriptions (press Shift)
New Enchanting Possibilities
Animal Gear — horse and wolf armor can now be enchanted!
Enchanting Previously Uncharmable Items: Elytra wings, shields, and other previously non-enchantable items are now magically compatible.
Comprehensive Magical Changes
Revised Protection and Attack Spells: • Arcane Protection — against magical damage • Elemental Protection — against environmental harm • Physical Protection — against standard damage
Overhauled Standard Attributes: Thorns, Feather Falling, and many others received significant improvements.
Blessings System includes:
- Mending — restores equipment
- Infinity — infinite arrows
- Frost — water freezes beneath your feet
- And many other options
