End-Less

Mod Overview

This mod fundamentally changes how End portals work, especially after defeating the Ender Dragon.

Before defeating the dragon

Any activated End portal always transports the player to the central island of the dimension for the dragon battle.

After the first dragon kill

In the Overworld at coordinates (0, 300, 0), a special portal appears. Entering it returns you to the dragon's arena in the minecraft:the_end dimension.

All other End portals (except the one at 0, 300, 0) now lead to a new dimension msg:new_end. It resembles the Outer End but without the central dragon island.

Travel to msg:new_end

When transitioning to this dimension, your X and Z coordinates are preserved, while the Y coordinate is automatically adjusted for safe spawning. For example, from coordinates 1523 -50 640 in the Overworld, you'll end up at 1523 52 640 in msg:new_end.

Upon arrival, you spawn on an obsidian platform with a return portal to the Overworld located beneath it.

Return from msg:new_end

Jumping into the End portal in the msg:new_end dimension returns you to the original coordinates in the Overworld, at the same Y level where the portal was located (for example, Y = -50).

Dimension features

minecraft:the_end — contains only the dragon battle island with the single biome minecraft:the_end.

msg:new_end — similar to the Outer End but lacks the central island.
