Epic Terrain - Large-Scale Minecraft Landscape Transformation
This project represents an experimental datapack created during the process of mastering world generation. The developer, tired of the game's standard terrain, decided to fundamentally rework the vanilla landscape generation, striving to create an efficient and realistic terrain formation system.
🎯 Main Concept
Despite significant improvements in world generation in recent Minecraft versions, the creator considered that the landscape was still not impressive enough and didn't create the feeling of real mountain ranges. This datapack completely rewrites the terrain generation system, allowing players to enjoy majestic mountain landscapes right in the game.
🌄 Key Features
- Smooth surfaces - natural transitions between different terrain types
- Erosion terrain - realistic modeling of weathering and erosion processes
- Majestic alpine peaks - high mountain ranges with steep slopes
- Continental plates - landscape generation based on tectonic plate principles
- Updated coastlines - formation of eroded bays, seas, straits, islands, and peninsulas
- New river system - large and small rivers with elevation drop function and sources

⚠️ Important Notes
- Incompatibility with TerraBlender - this mod disables surface functionality, including rivers
- Biome limitations - due to complete reset of biome distribution, practically incompatible with mods adding new biomes
- Version support - theoretically works on 1.19, but without custom biome support
- Issues in versions 1.21+ - errors detected related to using minecraft:lake. For fixing, installing WorldGenFeatureFix is recommended
Due to the realistic approach to generation, maps can reach enormous sizes - oceans can extend for 10,000 blocks. For convenient navigation, using the World Preview mod for map preview is recommended.
