Equipment Compare

Equipment Compare is a configurable client-side mod that makes comparing equipment in Minecraft much easier. With just a glance at the tooltips, you can quickly assess whether it's worth replacing your current gear with new items—especially useful in modded setups with a vast array of unique items!

Unlike most tooltip comparison mods, this one works differently: it displays information about what your character is already wearing next to the description of the item you're hovering over. This approach ensures maximum compatibility with new stats and features added by other mods.

Important note: All versions of the mod except the 1.12.2 version require the Iceberg mod to be installed.

Compatibility

The mod is fully client-side—it only needs to be installed on the client side, no server installation is required.

Configuration

By default, to display comparison tooltips, you need to hold the Shift key and hover over an item. This behavior can be changed in the "Controls" → "Inventory" section of the game settings.

Additional options are available in the mod's configuration file:

• Invert behavior: always show comparisons except when the key is held
• Customize the color and text for the "Equipped" badge displayed above tooltips
• Blacklist of item IDs—you can disable comparison for specific items
