Extended Inventory
Backpacks provide a convenient way to store additional blocks and items directly in your inventory. This is especially useful when building large structures that require numerous materials - simply hold the backpack and right-click to access its contents.
Getting Started
To create items from this mod, you'll need to befriend a cow. All crafting is done by right-clicking on a cow while holding one item in your main hand and another in your off-hand. The cow will take the necessary ingredients from your inventory and provide the finished result.
Basic recipes:
- Chest + 8 Leather = Backpack
- Chest + Piston = Export Module
- Chest + Sticky Piston = Import Module
- Chest + Nether Star = Chest Link
- Chest + Diamond = Hotbar Link
Backpack Upgrades
Initially, the backpack is used only for storing items, and you'll need to open it manually to access the contents. However, the system can be significantly improved.
Hotbar Link is created using a chest and a diamond. By placing this module in the backpack's special slot, you get automatic replenishment of the corresponding slot on the hotbar. For example, if you place cobblestone in the first link slot, the backpack will automatically refill it as you use it, maintaining the maximum stack size until supplies run out.
Additional Features
Backpacks can be renamed using a name tag. Simply rename the tag on an anvil and place it in the backpack's special slot.
Chest Link is a powerful upgrade, especially when combined with other mods. It allows the backpack to interact with other containers in the world. Import and export modules only work when a chest link is present.
The import module takes items from the linked container and places them in the backpack, but only if there's already at least one instance of that item in the backpack. The export module works in the opposite direction - maintaining the fullness of the linked container as long as at least one item remains in it.
