Extra Chests

Overview

The mod expands storage possibilities in Minecraft by adding chests and trapped chests for every type of vanilla wood. Now you can create storage systems that perfectly match the architecture of your builds.

All chests function similarly to standard ones - double chest creation is supported. Trapped chests generate redstone signal when opened.

This project became an excellent opportunity for me to practice creating block entities and working with textures.

Key Features

• Complete set of wood types: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, pale oak, bamboo, crimson, and warped fungus.
• Double chests: place two identical chests next to each other to get expanded storage.
• Trapped chests: emit redstone energy depending on the number of players viewing the contents.
• Creative mode access:
  • Regular chests → Functional Blocks
  • Trapped chests → Redstone Blocks

Installation

1. Download the mod file for your game version
2. Install a compatible loader (Fabric or NeoForge)
3. Place the mod file in the mods folder
4. Launch the game

Dependencies

Usage

• Place wooden chests the same way as regular chests
• Create double chests by placing two identical instances next to each other
• Use trapped chests when redstone signal is required upon opening
• Find blocks in the corresponding creative mode tabs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the mod change loot tables or world generation? No. These blocks are intended for building and placement in already created worlds.

Is installation required on both server and client? Yes. The mod must be installed on both the server and clients.
