Introduction to the Feruchemy System
The Feruchemy mod implements the unique magic system from Brandon Sanderson's "Mistborn" book series. This system allows players to store and tap various attributes, creating strategic gameplay experiences.
Compatibility and Requirements
Requires installation of Allomancy by legobmw99. The mod is fully compatible with Minecraft version 1.18.2.
Metals and Their Properties
The system includes 16 different metals, each governing a specific attribute:
- Iron - Weight control: slowing and resistance or feather falling effect
- Steel - Speed: speed boost or slowness
- Tin - Sight: night vision or blindness
- Pewter - Strength: haste/strength or weakness/mining fatigue
- Zinc - Mental speed: increased or decreased experience gain
- Brass - Warmth: melting snow and ice, fire aspect attacks or fire resistance
- Copper - Memory: storing and retrieving experience
- Bronze - Wakefulness: resetting phantom timer, switching day and night
- Aluminum - Identity: creating unkeyed metalminds
- Duralumin - Connection: hero of the village or bad omen effect
- Chromium - Luck: good or bad luck
- Nicrosil - Pure power: universal storage of any attributes
- Gold - Health: regeneration or health drain
- Electrum - Determination: bonus hearts or stopping regeneration
- Cadmium - Breath: water breathing or air bar depletion
- Bendalloy - Nutrition: saturation or hunger bar drain
Getting Started
To create a metalmind, use eight iron ingots arranged in a chest pattern. Add metal flakes of the desired metal by holding them in your off-hand and the metalmind in your main hand. Each flake increases maximum storage capacity by 10 units.
Controls and Interface
Open the management interface by pressing the "N" key (default). Right-click to start storing attributes, left-click to use them. Multiple uses of metals enhance effects.
Special Features
Aluminum and Identification: Initial aluminum storage creates an unkeyed metalmind accessible to any feruchemist - perfect for cooperative play.
Nicrosil: This metal serves as universal energy storage. When stored here first, charges from other metals are preserved here, and when tapped - consumed first.
Curios Compatibility
For integration with the Curios system, update the world configuration by adding a metalmind slot to the curios_server.toml file:
#List of curio slot type settings
[[curiosSettings]]
identifier = "metal_mind"
Key Updates
Version 1.2: Added creative metalmind with infinite charges, reworked zinc system, improved renaming compatibility.
Effect Compounding: Some metals now support combined use with simultaneous storing and burning, creating enhanced fourth-level effects.
Development Plans
In development are interface tooltips, hotkeys for quick ability use, and new metalmind types expanding system capabilities.
