

FlashFyre's Skylands
After the "floating islands" world type was removed in the Caves & Cliffs update (1.18), creating a world with floating islands has become significantly more difficult. This mod addresses this issue by adding several new skyland world types for various gaming experiments. Currently available are three distinct types, with many more planned for future implementation.
World Types
Classic
Immerse yourself in the classic floating island mechanics. This world type strives to closely replicate the original removed skylands dimension.
Classic (Large)
Features similar terrain to the classic type but with doubled scale in island generation.
Cellular
Utilizes a new cellular/Worley noise density function to create large, rounded floating islands that rise toward the center. Some cellular islands may connect to each other. An empty "sky" biome is generated away from these islands to reduce the likelihood of structures appearing in the void.
Biomes
In all three dimensions, biomes are selected from the table of "middle" biomes that generate in the overworld. These are biomes that appear in many areas of the main world and lack unique terrain features. Consequently, biomes with distinctive landscapes (such as mountains or swamps) are absent. Oceans, rivers, plateaus, windswept hills, and cave biomes also do not generate.
