First Aid
The First Aid mod fundamentally changes Minecraft's health system, introducing a realistic approach to taking damage and healing.
New Health System
Instead of the standard health bar, there's now a division into 8 separate zones. Each body part - head, torso, legs, and feet - has its own health bar, making gameplay more realistic and strategic.
Natural health regeneration is disabled by default. This effect persists even after removing the mod, but it can be changed through configuration settings or with the /gamerule naturalRegeneration true command.
For healing, you need to use medical bandages or plasters. Right-clicking the item in your inventory opens an interface where you can select the damaged area to treat. Death occurs when head or torso health drops to zero.
Damage Effects
When limbs are injured, various negative effects occur. For example, leg damage causes a constant slowness effect, while serious head injuries can lead to temporary blindness or nausea.
All these effects can be temporarily suppressed with morphine. While morphine is active, negative effects from injuries don't manifest, but after it wears off, all permanent debuffs return.
Armor Changes
The protection calculation system has also been reworked. Now when taking damage, only the armor on the injured body part is considered. Since helmet protection characteristics are typically lower than chestplates, these values are multiplied by special coefficients, making head and torso protection critically important for survival.
