Flat Colored Blocks
This mod adds a huge variety of colored blocks to Minecraft for building and creative projects. You'll get access to simple colored blocks, transparent variants, and glowing elements - all fully customizable to your needs.
Main Features
The mod offers advanced color settings: you can adjust the number of shades, saturation and brightness, as well as set minimum and maximum value ranges. This allows you to create exactly the palette you need for your building project.
Compatibility
Flat Colored Blocks works perfectly with the Chisels & Bits mod, allowing you to use colored blocks as building elements for detailed constructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this mod in a modpack?
Yes, you can freely include it in your modpacks.
Why aren't the block textures completely smooth?
By default, a slightly textured option is used that better matches Minecraft's style. However, the mod settings offer "flawless" (no defects), "stone", or "hardened clay" variants. You can also change textures via a resource pack.
Why don't blocks appear in the crafting tool?
Make sure you have dyes and cobblestone/glass/glowstone in your inventory. Any dyes registered in the ore dictionary should work. If the problem persists, check the crafting settings in the mod configuration.
Can I change crafting recipes?
Yes, in the crafting section of the configuration menu, you can adjust the number of blocks obtained and the materials used for crafting.
Why does the mod use many block IDs?
The mod uses block states to create compatible blocks, allowing other mods to recognize and use them for advanced features. This is a more lightweight solution compared to tile entity-based implementation.
Can I configure the shade range?
Yes, through the configuration screen you can change the minimum and maximum range for hue, value, and saturation (HSV color space), as well as the number of variations for each color dimension.
Important: Don't change settings in an existing world - this will alter the colors of already placed blocks.
Crafting Recipes

After creating the main tool, you'll need dyes and cobblestone/glass/glowstone in your inventory to craft blocks through the item interface. Some blocks require multiple dyes - experiment with different combinations.
Crafting Helper (Version 4.3+)

The recipe is shapeless: Flat Colored Block to duplicate + Colored Block Crafter + required ingredients. Only ingredients are consumed during crafting.
Technical Features
The mod can use a large number of block IDs with incorrect configuration or when choosing a wide shade range - keep this in mind during setup.
The mod doesn't use tile entities, and all rendering is done using a single model and texture to ensure maximum compatibility with other mods.
