Flavorful
IMPORTANT: THIS MOD REQUIRES APPLECORE TO RUN!
Main Features
This modification fundamentally differs from other food-related mods. It doesn't add new items to the game and doesn't alter the initial characteristics of food products. The core concept of Flavorful is to provide the ability to work with food through a special NBT tag called 'seasoning'.
Using additional mods (such as CraftTweaker), you can create recipes for seasoned dishes. Each 'seasoning' level by default increases or decreases satiety by half a hunger level and saturation by 0.05 units. Interestingly, level values can be both positive and negative!

Seasoned items feature detailed tooltips that display six text levels depending on the food's seasoning degree, along with a numerical indicator.

All the above can be configured or completely disabled through the configuration file.
Example command:
/give @p minecraft:apple 1 0 {seasoning: 1}
Development Story
The idea emerged from the functionality of the Rustic mod when working with olive oil, which could be combined with food to slightly increase its characteristics. However, this approach had several significant drawbacks:
- Crafting results always included a glass bottle
- Compatibility issues with global hunger system modifications
- Only one level of improved food with fixed values
Usage Benefits
Flavorful offers a truly flexible seasoning system:
- Creating unique recipes with customizable parameters (salt, spices, etc.)
- Ability to punish players for preparing food in a "lazy" way
- Adding special enhanced products to various loot tables: dungeon chests, mob drops
Compatibility and Support
The mod was developed with compatibility in mind for popular modifications like HungerOverhaul and AppleSkin. Tested in a pack of ~300 mods with positive results. If you encounter unexpected behavior or compatibility issues, we recommend reporting it on the appropriate page.

Regarding Updates...
The author doesn't plan to add support for other game versions or create backports. However, you can do this yourself if you have the necessary skills.
