Fog
The Fog mod completely reworks Minecraft's fog system, changing its color, start, and end points. This creates a deeper sense of atmosphere in the game by shifting the fog start closer to the player while maintaining standard view distance but significantly improving the visual perception of the world.
Main Features
Most features can be customized through the configuration screen or resource packs. Access to settings on Fabric requires Mod Menu.
Underground Fog
As you descend into underground areas, you'll notice the fog becoming thicker. This enhances the mysterious and frightening atmosphere of caves, making exploration more intense and immersive. It creates a sense of real depth, making the underground world feel more alive and interesting.

Weather Changes
The fog adapts to current weather conditions—during rain or snowfall, it changes accordingly. This makes each weather condition unique and visually appealing, enhancing the overall atmosphere.

Time-based Changes
During sunsets and sunrises, the fog becomes more colorful and vibrant. At night, the fog color depends on the current moon phase, creating diverse visual effects.

Biome Colors
The fog changes color depending on the biome you're in, giving each area a unique look and feel. This creates a cohesive visual experience when moving between different biomes. Modified biomes are supported, and customization through resource packs allows for personalization of gameplay.

Sky Fixes
When flying with elytras above clouds, the fog gradually disappears, revealing a clear view of the sky without strange horizon lines. Additionally, clouds maintain their natural appearance and are not affected by fog color, always remaining consistent and visually appealing.

Configuration
Thanks to the Yet Another Config Library, Fog offers extensive customization options. The full list of settings is accessible through Mod Menu on Fabric or the mods list on NeoForge.

Answer: Yes! The mod is fully compatible with multiplayer—it only needs to be installed on the client, but if your friends also have the mod installed, the visual effects will be similar.
Question: Does only the client need this mod or does the server need it too?
Answer: This is a completely client-side mod, so it only needs to be installed on the client. The server does not require installation.
For Developers and Server Administrators
If you want to add support for your modified biomes, you can use Fog's custom JSON fog definition format to create unique effects. The mod is fully customizable through resource packs and a dedicated configuration file.
Additionally, when developing mods for Fabric, you can use Fog's special data generators to speed up your workflow when adding compatibility.
Server owners can configure fog start/end points and biome colors to match their server's aesthetic.
