Forge Seasons
Transform your Minecraft into a world with constantly changing seasons! This mod adds a four-season system to the game that dynamically alters your game world as time progresses.
Features and Capabilities
Forge Seasons implements genuine seasonal cycles lasting 28 in-game days each (this value can be changed in settings). The current season is determined by world time - for example, the /time set 0 command sets the beginning of spring. Each season affects the environment in its own way, with biomes most closely matching their original characteristics during spring.
Two-Component Architecture
The mod consists of two independent modules:
-
Server Component - installed on the server and modifies biome temperatures depending on the season. This enables seasonal weather phenomena like winter snowfall or block freezing! Also includes a seasonal farming system - crop growth speed now depends on the current time of year.
-
Client Component - designed for installation on the player's computer. Visually changes biome color palettes according to the season, making the world more atmospheric. These changes are purely decorative and don't affect gameplay.

Seasonal Temperature Regimes
Biome temperature characteristics change significantly depending on the season:
- Cold biomes experience rain in summer
- Temperate biomes get covered in snow in winter
- Tropical regions maintain stable climate year-round
- Hot biomes experience rainy seasons in winter
Each biome's specific behavior is determined by its original temperature parameters and precipitation levels.
Seasonal Farming
The agricultural system becomes more realistic - crop growth speed directly depends on the time of year.

Each plant type has predetermined growth speeds for each of the four seasons. This system is fully customizable through datapacks, allowing players to adapt the mechanics to their preferences.
