Framez
The Framez modification is a comprehensive system for creating moving structures in Minecraft. It adds four main categories of elements: motors, frames, upgrades, and auxiliary blocks with items.
Motors: The Source of Movement
Motors are the heart of the entire system and are classified by two parameters:
By Movement Type:
- Sliding Motors: Move blocks along their active face in the direction indicated by the arrow
- Rotating Motors: Rotate blocks around the axis of their face with speed depending on the distance to the farthest block
- Linear Actuators: Work similarly to sliding motors but push blocks away from their face instead of sliding along it
- Teleporting Drives: Allow instant movement of structures over long distances (up to 64 blocks) when paired with another motor on the same axis. Energy consumption increases proportionally with distance
By Power Source:
- DC Motors: Operate without external power (disabled by default in settings)
- Electric Motors: Use IndustrialCraft 2 EU energy
- Fluctuating Motors: Run on Redstone Flux
- Electro-Fluctuating Motors: Support both energy types simultaneously
- Botanist's Motors: Use mana from Botania
- Pneumatic Motors: Operate on pressure from PneumaticCraft
Frames: The Foundation of Structures
The frame system has been completely redesigned compared to the previous version. Each frame now has characteristics:
- Maximum number of attached blocks
- Maximum number of multiparts in one block
- Minimum movement speed
Available frame types:
- Wooden (3 blocks, 3 multiparts, 2 seconds)
- Iron/Copper/Tin (4 blocks, 4 multiparts, 1 second)
- Gold (5 blocks, 3 multiparts, 0.5 seconds)
- Bronze/Silver (5 blocks, 5 multiparts, 0.75 seconds)
- Invar (5 blocks, 5 multiparts, 1 second) - require Thermal Foundation
- Electrum (5 blocks, 7 multiparts, 0.75 seconds) - require Thermal Foundation
- Enderium (6 blocks, 10 multiparts, instant movement) - require Thermal Foundation
Motor Upgrades
The modification offers various upgrades to expand motor functionality:
- Bouncy Upgrade: Allows sliding motors to move blocks in one direction when powered and in the opposite direction when unpowered
- Camouflage Upgrade: Enables masking any side of the motor as a regular block
- Computer Upgrade: Allows motor control through ComputerCraft or OpenComputers
Auxiliary Elements
- Wrench: For rotating motors and blocking frame sides
- Silky Wrench: Preserves frame state when broken
- Stopper Block: Stops structure movement when reached
- Metamorphic Stone: Unique generated block with special properties
Metamorphic Stone Features:
When mined with a regular pickaxe, it drops the cracked version. After filling with fluid and sealing, it forms powerful blocks:
- Aqueous Metamorphic Stone: Turns lava into stone and obsidian
- Fiery Metamorphic Stone: Turns water into cobblestone and stone
- Gelid Metamorphic Stone: Freezes water into ice and packed ice
Multipart Support
Framez is fully compatible with Forge MultiPart, allowing pipes, conduits, and panels to be placed inside frames. Panels provide reliable block attachment during movement, while covers create surfaces without fixation.
Additional Features
- Interaction with blocks during movement (levers, interfaces, gates)
- Full compatibility with ComputerCraft and OpenComputers
- Funky Locomotion support
- Resource return when crafting
- Pre-installation of microblocks in frames
The system supports most blocks by default, including blocks with TileEntities and multiparts.
