Fungal Hazard

Fungal Hazard is a post-apocalyptic mod centered around a fungal infection theme that spawns various infected creatures. The mod emphasizes atmospheric immersion, engaging combat gameplay, and ease of learning for beginners.

For the mod to work, Sona Survival 101 and Geckolib are required.

Project Overview

Currently, Fungal Hazard is in beta testing and includes three types of infected creatures:

  • Infected — the most common type, found in almost every corner of the Overworld
  • Spore Carriers — highly specialized infected capable of releasing spores to heal other infected and infect susceptible creatures
  • Explosive — powerful and agile special infected that require extreme caution when encountered

Key Features

Attack Wind-Up — all infected in the mod have a preparation period before attacking. It's recommended to use this mod alongside mods that add blocking or dodging mechanics.

Leg Damage — shooting or hitting the legs of regular infected with projectiles or firearms can immobilize them. The chance of this effect depends on the damage dealt and can be configured in the settings file.

Migration Behavior — at night or during rain, infected under the open sky may instinctively gather into hordes and migrate. This feature can be disabled in the configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How to change mob spawning? A: The mod uses the standard datapack format to manage all creature spawning. To customize or remove spawns, modify files in the directory: data/fungal_hazard/forge/biome_modifier

Q: Does the mod support emissive textures? A: Yes, the mod supports resource packs in vanilla Minecraft style. Currently, only some infected use emissive textures. More variants and improved resource pack compatibility are planned.

Q: Is there equipment rendering support? A: Humanoid creatures support rendering items in hands. However, default item generation on infected is disabled. Armor rendering is not yet supported but is planned for future updates.

Q: Can this mod be included in a modpack or server? A: Yes, you can freely use it in non-monetized modpacks and servers. For commercial use (such as paid modpacks or monetized servers), permission from the author is required.
