Geophilic Reforged - Natural Landscape Enhancement

Geophilic Reforged is a data-based modification that subtly enhances vanilla and modded Overworld biomes! The main inspiration comes from scrapped concepts that were supposed to be part of the Wild Update. Essentially, it's a collection of small improvements without adding new blocks, items, or even biomes.

What's New in the Minecraft World

This version of Geophilic is designed for compatibility with all biomes - both vanilla and those added by other mods, with special attention to harmony with Biomes O' Plenty.

Here are the main changes introduced by Geophilic Reforged:

  • Some vanilla trees, including oak, spruce, and birch, grow taller
  • Tree stumps and fallen trees appear in various forest biomes
  • Moss covers logs, stones, and podzol in deciduous and coniferous forests
  • Small bushes grow in some forests, plains, and plateaus
  • Rocks of different types become common landscape features
  • In certain biomes, you can find patches of podzol, coarse dirt, stone, and other blocks
  • Grass becomes significantly denser almost everywhere, with density depending on biome type
  • Some biomes receive unique features specific only to them!

A picture is worth a thousand words! Especially in this case, since significant biome improvement requires surprisingly few changes.

If you don't use biome mods, you can choose the classic Geophilic version, but this one will work too. Both function, though they differ slightly. The choice is yours :)

Technical Features

Do not use this mod alongside classic Geophilic. Remove the original Geophilic before installing this version. Your world won't be damaged, but make a backup anyway!

Requires Forge, even when used as a data pack. Won't work in vanilla Minecraft.

Due to the nature of this modification (and my insufficient Java knowledge, plus lack of time to learn, but shhh) features requiring new blocks from other mods (such as fallen trees from mods needing special logs) might be missing. However, this isn't such a big problem since elements like rocks and vegetation are still added. If it seems like a mod isn't supported, make sure it correctly tags its biomes.

The mod is still in development. New versions may differ. Won't break your save. Or will it? 🤨

Mod Compatibility

The mod works best with the following biome modifications:

  • Biomes O' Plenty
  • Windswept
  • Traverse Reforged

Please don't ask about compatibility with other biome mods - they're most likely supported.

This mod doesn't change biome colors. If you need that, use the Greener Grass feature from the Quark mod, which allows complete customization of all natural colors and works excellently.
