GeoSmelt
GeoSmelt aims to expand upon the foundations already established by Minecraft developers, adding 12 unique ores with their own progression system to the game. All tools and weapons feature distinctive characteristics that set them apart from counterparts in other mods. Additionally, the mod includes one new boss, several mobs, and even a new structure in the End for exploration using the trial chamber system.
While GeoSmelt already offers numerous features, development continues, with additional elements planned for future versions targeting new Minecraft releases. Most of the mod's content is focused on version 1.20 and above, as earlier versions are considered outdated and unsupported.
Ores and Their Locations
The mod introduces several unique ores with a clear progression system:
Gear upgrade order: Diamond → Netherite → Viradium → Dark Iron → Starcinium/Dark Steel → Adamantium/Xenoksmith
Ore deposits:
- Adamantium Ore: from -48 to -64 (in the Overworld)
- Deep Iron Ore: from -24 to -64 (in the Overworld)
- Deep Platinum Ore: from 0 to -35 (in the Overworld)
- Mithril: from 27 to 114 (only in Basalt Deltas)
- Nether Coal Ore: from 0 to 128 (everywhere in the Nether)
- Dark Iron Ore: from 27 to 114 (rarely throughout the Nether)
- Netherite Ore: from 0 to 45 (extremely rare in underground blackstone)
- Platinum Ore: from 0 to 24 (in the Overworld)
- Starcinium Ore: from 0 to 47 (only in End Midlands and Highlands)
- Sparkling Sand: from 27 to 77 (on surface sand in warm ocean biomes)
- Terranite: from 12 to 114 (only in Jungles)
- Viradium: from -64 to -34 (only in cold biomes)
- Rose Quartz: from 0 to 65 (only in desert biome sandstone)
Unique Metals
Starcinium — A lightweight yet incredibly durable metal lost to the void. Possesses cosmic magic that makes it malleable for crafting. Starcinium-gilded apples are an excellent food source with a distinctive sour taste that has become iconic in the End. Legends say that alloying Starcinium with Mithril creates a metal unknown to mankind.
Xenoksmith — A legendary alloy made possible only through cosmic disturbances in the space-time continuum. The unique properties of this fusion of Mithril and Starcinium enable the creation of terraformers. When enchanted with rebound from the Malum mod, it may gain soul-hunting abilities.
Adamantium — The fabled metal of antiquity, preferring the deepest parts of the world. Its unnatural durability formed under the influence of surrounding bedrock. Armor made from this metal boosts damage, while the sword and axe whisper to the owner's mind about the need to absorb the life force of all things.
Viradium — A radioactive metal from cold biomes that brings decay and doom to everything it touches.
Dark Iron — A cruel metal created by Nether souls, serving as a catalyst for crafting higher-tier gear.
New Mobs
Scorpions
Diverse scorpions come in several variants: Nether, Cave, Ice, Desert, and the rarest — Emperor. Use their stingers to craft a Poisoned Dagger or brew a Potion of Stability from chitin. Obsidian chitin from the Emperor Scorpion allows crafting a special armor piece.
Fiends
Spooky undead bat monsters spawning below y=0. They heal from every successful attack and can turn invisible. Shadow Essence dropped by Fiends is used to create Shadow Rage potions and Dark Steel. Shadow Rage increases attack by 4 per level and turns the user invisible when health falls below 10.
Spriggans
Evil ancient guardians of the dark forest who shrug off arrows like feathers. Their weakness is fire. They rarely drop Tough Roots (as do Thornroots and Underroots), used to brew Potions of Nature's Ward that provide additional armor per level.
Vanilla Mob Variants
- Skeleton Warriors: Armored skeletons with steel swords and weakening arrows
- Jungle Tarantulas: Neutral spiders that hate illagers and can be tempted with Glow Berries
- Soul Creepers: Fast exploding creepers spawning only in Soul Sand Valleys of the Nether
- Blights: Redesigned Vexes with lower health, dropping Soul Powder
Golems
- Deep Iron Golem: Powerful but very slow
- Starcinium Golem: Fast with high health, immune to fire and explosions
The Galaxy Champion
A traveling combatant from another reality taking the form of an illager. Defeating it rewards a Core of Galaxius for upgrading Starcinium gear. The Champion's true form offers even more powerful Ascendant Cores for further upgrades.
The mod integrates well into any modpack, not just the author's.
