Glass Shards
Does it bother you when glass blocks and panes in Minecraft break without leaving any resources behind? This compact yet practical modification addresses this issue by altering the game's standard mechanics.
When breaking glass blocks or panes, you have a random chance to obtain glass shards. These shards can be smelted in a furnace to restore the original glass. This provides you with a method, albeit with some losses, to convert panes back into full blocks. The drop chance for shards can be easily configured to suit your preferences, with panes yielding fewer shards compared to blocks.
Stained glass and its corresponding panes drop colored glass shards when broken. Uncolored shards can be dyed using dyes, and to remove color from already dyed shards, you can use gunpowder. All these features are also customizable to your liking.
Additionally, you can craft a sword from glass shards. It has attack damage equivalent to iron weapons but possesses lower durability and wears out quickly.
The shard dropping mechanic is compatible with glass blocks from mods such as Chisel, MineFactory Reloaded, Tinkers Construct, and EnderIO, with appropriate configuration.
