Glidelytra
The Glidelytra mod offers a fresh perspective on using elytras in Minecraft, making this mode of transportation more balanced and engaging. The development is for Fabric and is in the beta testing stage, so some elements may change.
Main Features
The mod was inspired by the Glide minigame from Legacy Console Edition. The key innovation is boost rings - special multiblock structures that provide a speed boost when flying over them. For detailed information on building these structures, refer to the wiki.

The firework system has also undergone changes - they now have a cooldown that gradually increases with flight duration. Elytra durability slowly recovers when you're not using it for flight.
An interesting game mechanic has been added: when taking damage from projectiles or explosions, the elytra temporarily deactivates. This prevents quick escapes in PvP battles and makes it harder for snipers to shoot down gliding players.
Usage Strategy
To achieve maximum efficiency, you'll need to build a network of boost rings to maintain speed throughout your flight. The boost power depends on altitude - the greatest effect is achieved at high altitudes, with sea level (y63) considered the base level.
Elytra durability gradually decreases during flight, so it's important to reach your destination as quickly as possible. Fireworks remain useful for short flights and gaining altitude, but the elytra is no longer a tool for rapidly exploring undeveloped chunks - now you'll need to take breaks for durability recovery.
Additional Content
The mod includes 7 music discs with soundtracks from the Glide minigame (by Gareth Coker). These compositions are in the "creator-safe" Minecraft playlist, so their use is permitted. This content is considered beta and may be removed in the future.
