Their main purpose is to provide an alternative to End wings so that players don't have to rush to that dimension for elytras.

When developing gliders, special attention was paid to balance and player comfort in both single-player and server gameplay. They don't possess the same power as elytras but offer various upgrades that make them a full-fledged replacement in the early and mid-game stages. Gliders will help you explore the world, safely descend into caves, and avoid falling from cliffs.

Glider Tiers

You'll encounter a variety of glider options. The wooden glider is perfect for beginners who are just mastering the art of flight. If you need greater durability, consider iron or gold models. For those willing to invest more resources, diamond gliders are an excellent choice due to increased durability and extended flight time. And for maximum comfort enthusiasts, netherite gliders are worth attention - they possess the highest durability and the longest glide time.

To create a glider, you'll first need to manufacture reinforced paper - a special material used in the construction of these flying devices. Reinforced paper is created by combining regular paper with additional materials: leather, iron, gold, diamonds, or netherite scraps depending on the desired glider strength. The crafting process is quite simple and is performed on a crafting table. After obtaining reinforced paper, you can create a glider of the desired tier.

Thermal Currents

Usually, fire and magma in Minecraft pose a danger, but with a glider, you can use them to your advantage. When approaching heat sources, you'll notice wind particles creating updrafts. These thermal vortices will give you a significant height boost, allowing you to easily overcome dangerous territories. However, be cautious when using gliders in other hot dimensions - without corresponding upgrades, the conditions may be too extreme for your device.

Electrical Hazard

When using a glider, it's important to remember its metal components. During flight in rain or thunderstorms, you become an ideal target for lightning. Therefore, it's not recommended to fly in bad weather. If you still take the risk, you'll hear the glider start crackling from static charge until it's struck by lightning, which will drop you from the skies and likely break your device. Fortunately, you can replace the metal parts of your glider by combining it with the corresponding reinforced paper, and there exists a modification that turns lightning from a problem into a useful upgrade.

Glider Repair

Gliders have a fragile construction, and improper use can lead to their breakdown. But don't despair - your favorite flying device can be repaired. This requires new reinforced paper matching the material of the original glider.

The repair process is carried out through a smithing table: place the damaged glider and freshly created reinforced paper for restoration. However, use the glider moderately - even with upgrades, when its durability reaches zero, it will be irreversibly lost.

Upgrades

Glider technology is constantly evolving, offering numerous upgrades that extend the service life of these amazing inventions before transitioning to elytras. These modifications allow exploration of previously inaccessible territories and environments. With upgrades, the glider becomes a more versatile tool for everyday adventures. Additionally, you can enchant your glider with "Mending" and "Unbreaking" spells to maximize its service life. With all these upgrades and enchantments, the glider will become an indispensable companion in all your journeys.

Perspective Change

When using gliders in Minecraft, you might find that some situations are easier to overcome in third-person mode (F5). Considering this, we've added a new feature that automatically switches the camera to F5 mode when using a glider.

This feature is particularly useful when exploring new territories. Glider flights can be very spectacular and cinematic, but it's difficult to maintain the right perspective when dodging obstacles or maneuvering in tight spaces. By switching to F5 mode, you'll be able to see your surroundings better, which will facilitate avoiding obstacles and maintaining course.

To activate this function, go to the control menu via pause and find the "Glider Perspective" option. You can turn it on or off according to your preference. By default, the function is disabled, but it's worth trying to determine your preferences. Beginners in gliding are recommended to leave this function disabled until mastering basic skills, while experienced pilots might find it indispensable for their adventures.

Compatibility

One of the advantages of these gliders is their compatibility with other modifications like Create and Curios. Gliders are stylistically adapted to work with the Create mod, which allows players to create complex mechanisms and constructions using gears, belts, and other components. The glider mod seamlessly integrates with Create, allowing the inclusion of gliders in mechanisms and transportation systems.

Additionally, gliders are compatible with Curios - a modification that allows equipping items as accessories. This means you can wear a glider as an accessory, allowing you to soar through the skies without needing to occupy a valuable chestplate slot in your inventory.
