Glore - Mod for Glowing Ores and Armor Trims
The Glore mod introduces a unique glowing mechanic to Minecraft - now various ores and decorative armor elements can emit light of different intensities. You can fine-tune the configuration so that any blocks or armor trim materials emit light of varying brightness.
Brightness Levels
Ore Blocks
- Diamond Ore: 15 (maximum brightness)
- Emerald Ore: 12
- Gold Ore: 10
- Lapis Ore: 7
- Copper Ore: 7
- Iron Ore: 4
- Coal Ore: 4
- Redstone Ore: dynamic glow, similar to vanilla mechanics
Armor Trims
- Amethyst: 4 light units per armor piece
- Redstone: 2 light units per armor piece
Client/Server Compatibility
The mod has flexible compatibility and can work in various configurations:
- Client only: only the armor trim glowing effect works
- Server only: only the block glowing effect works, while new block light settings don't apply to clients until reconnecting to the server or re-entering the chunk
- Both client and server: all effects work correctly without limitations
Colored Lighting
For colored lighting, you'll need to use the mod alongside shaders that support colored lighting. Development and testing were conducted with Complementary Reimagined + Euphoria Patches with colored lighting setting enabled, but other shaders should also work.
Configuration Settings
Version 1.21
In the config folder, there's a main configuration file glore.json that allows you to configure which blocks emit light and with what intensity. Additionally, the glore_trims.json file is available for configuring armor trim glow.
Version 1.20.x
Two configuration files are located in the mods folder next to the mod jar file. They are generated when you first launch the game with the mod installed.
