Glowing Tools
Say goodbye to lighting problems during underground exploration! This mod transforms your regular tools into light sources that you can hold without needing to remove your shield or install fullbright mods.
How It Works
Any standard tool from vanilla Minecraft can be converted into a glowing version. Simply craft a torch and combine it with the tool in a crafting table. The resulting glowing tool will illuminate the area around you when held in your hand.
Diamond glowing tools can be upgraded to netherite versions in a smithing table. All characteristics - durability, enchantments, and other properties - are fully preserved from the original versions.
Additional Features
Using glowing tools, you can place torches directly from your inventory - just crouch and right-click on a block. You can also pick up already placed torches using any tool (regular tools automatically transform into glowing ones).
Important Features
The mod is fully compatible with shaders - tested with BSL and Complementary on Iris. The package includes a resource pack with alternative textures for those who prefer a more restrained design instead of a torch on the tool.
Requirements
For the Fabric version, you need Fabric Loader, API, and LambDynamicLights. For Forge - Forge itself and DynamicLights Reforged.
Known Features
When creating glowing tools, durability indicators, custom names, and enchantments are reset. Torches can only be placed on solid blocks. Older versions of items look like regular tools due to the durability bar.
