Golem Dungeons
This mod adds unique dungeons to Minecraft with trials where players battle hostile golems. Defeating these mechanical opponents grants access to exclusive equipment and weapons.
Main Features
Hostile golems display flags representing their faction affiliation. They aggressively attack players and their companions but remain neutral toward other mobs. Golems are immune to damage from creatures of their own faction but can be harmed by members of hostile groups.
Abandoned Factory
Locate temples with copper statues in plains biomes, which serve as entrances to the dungeon. Explore intricate mazes and face golem trials. These mechanical beings are primarily constructed from copper, iron, and gold, with some equipped with random armor. The trial reward is the Ancient Forge—a weapon for metal golems that can bypass enemy armor.
Piglin Factory
Discover this factory in crimson forests at lava level. Local golems are made of iron, gold, and netherite, outfitted with fully enchanted netherite armor. This is an excellent spot for farming netherite ingots and gear if you can overcome these powerful foes. The reward is the Flame Sword—a weapon for metal golems that deals additional magical fire damage ignoring armor. When golems use this sword to kill other golems, they yield significantly more materials.
Sculk Factory
Find the factory in the deep dark. Golems here are crafted from iron and sculk, equipped with fully enchanted diamond armor. The trial reward is the Sculk Scythe—a weapon for metal golems that produces a sonic burst upon attack. This damage ignores armor, enchantments, and potion effects.
Raid Reinforcements
Starting from wave 5, raids will summon golems. These entities are made solely of iron and outfitted with chainmail or samurai armor. This feature can be disabled in the mod's configuration.
All trials are entirely data-driven. You can modify existing trials or add new ones using datapacks.
Integration with Other Mods
Cataclysm
You can use a Trial Medal instead of eyes to resurrect bosses via the boss spawner. In this case, bosses will appear alongside 4 golems of their faction:
- Ender Guardian: 2 metal golems and 2 humanoid golems riding dog golems. All can summon void runes and void vortices.
- Scylla: 2 storm metal golems and 2 storm humanoid golems riding dog golems. Beware of lightning spears and waves.
- Netherite Monstrosity: 4 netherite metal golems in full monstrosity armor. Their fall attack is quite fearsome.
- Harbinger: 2 witherite metal golems in full harbinger armor and 2 witherite humanoid golems riding dogs. All wield assault weapons, laser gatlings, or meat shredders.
- Ignis: Use a Trial Medal to craft special burning ashes for the altar of fire to summon Ignis with 4 ignitium golems.
Twilight Forest
In the dungeons of the Final Castle, each room contains a golem spawner. Break into the room using a maze breaker and battle the golems. These beings are made from steeleaf, ironwood, knightmetal, or fiery ingots, equipped with all possible weapons and armor from the Twilight Forest and numerous related upgrades. Some are extremely tough to defeat, and the Sculk Scythe is recommended for bypassing Carminite upgrades.
Trials provide many non-renewable tools, equipment, and materials. You can also obtain many ingots from golems. Complete trials multiple times to gather enough materials to craft the Giant Ironwood Sword, Giant Knightmetal Sword, and Giant Fiery Sword. These are too heavy for players to wield and can only be held by metal golems.
