Grinner's Ents 2.0
Ents are ancient forest beings that protect and cultivate forests in the overworld. The modification features seven varieties of these creatures corresponding to the main tree types from vanilla game: oak, dark oak, birch, acacia, spruce, jungle, and (in version for 1.20) cherry tree.
These ancient forest guardians periodically plant saplings and fertilize the ground with bone meal. Ents are neutral mobs and do not show aggression first, but they are very zealous in protecting their domains. If you start stripping bark from trees or cutting down trunks, the ents will immediately go on the offensive. At night, these creatures enter a state of rest and freeze in place.
If you accidentally anger an ent, you can try to treat it with an apple - this will help calm the angry creature.
When defeating an ent, there is a chance that it will leave behind wood and bark. Bark can also be harvested by stripping ordinary trees and then used to craft paper.
Technical Requirements
For the mod to work, Geckolib and SmartBrainLib libraries are required.
Please note: all modification files that do not contain the "2.0" mark in their name are archived versions. Download only files with the 2.0 designation.
Version Compatibility
Compatibility testing has been conducted:
- For Minecraft 1.18.2 use Forge version 40.2.0
- For Minecraft 1.20.1 suitable Forge versions are from 47.1.0 to 47.1.3 - do not try to run the mod on newer versions
In the updated version 2.0, ents have become almost twice as tall as their predecessors and look more impressive. All old behavior bugs have been fixed, new animations have been added. Now these forest giants can wake up and attack even if you attack them at night.
