Guard Villagers - Village Defenders
Tired of your village constantly dying because of a lazy golem? Fed up with defending the settlement alone against all threats? The Guard Villagers mod offers an elegant solution - professional guards who will take over village defense.
Guard System
Each village now spawns groups of six guards armed with iron swords or crossbows. These fighters are ready to confront any danger threatening the village (sometimes even the player!). To create new defenders, simply crouch and right-click on an unemployed villager or nitwit while holding a sword or crossbow.
Guards interact with other villagers and trust players with high reputation, those with "Hero of the Village" status, or their creators. Right-clicking opens the guard's inventory where you can equip them with armor, change weapons, and add items to their offhand.

You can give them a shield for blocking attacks or food/potions for health recovery in their offhand. Crossbow guards with shields cannot kick enemies while blocking. When low on health, guards automatically use healing items.

Guard Management
Players can assign patrol zones to guards using the "Patrol" button. With "Hero of the Village" status, the "Follow" button becomes available, allowing guards to accompany the player and fight on their side. Ringing a bell with this effect summons all guards in the area to follow the player.
Additional Changes
Baby villagers now have large heads, just like in the Bedrock edition!

Witches attack villagers (configurable)

During raids, pillagers kill all encountered animals (disabled by default)

Villagers and illagers fear polar bears (configurable)
Clerics heal wounded guards, villagers, and players with "Hero of the Village" status using regeneration potions, while blacksmiths repair iron golems with ingots.

Villagers with excess food share it with guards. Golems now float on water to avoid getting stuck in rivers and ponds.
