Guinea Pigs

A small modification that adds seven adorable guinea pigs to Minecraft! Requires installation of Architectury API. Works with Forge and Fabric, compatible with Quilt.

Color Variety

Guinea pigs come in seven color variations:

• Brown
• Brown/Orange
• Tan
• Calico
• Gray
• Black/White
• White

Carry Container

Guinea pigs can be transported in a special pouch! The container shows the color of the guinea pig inside.

Feeding Features

Wild and tamed guinea pigs happily eat various foods:

• Carrots
• Golden carrots
• Beetroot
• Grass
• Melon
• Pumpkin
• Dandelions
• Apples
• Golden apples

If you sneak and offer a guinea pig a treat, there's a chance to get the Absorption effect. Regular feeding may put the guinea pig into love mode.

How to Obtain and Tame

A guinea pig can be purchased from a wandering trader. Pay attention to alfalfa seeds - they will be needed for taming.

To tame the fluffy pet, you need to grow alfalfa and feed it to the guinea pig - this is the only way to tame them. After taming, the guinea pig can be told to sit in place, like a wolf.

Important Warning

When updating from versions below 1.1.2, be sure to release guinea pigs from your inventory into the world to avoid losing your pets.

Compatibility

For version 1.12.2, some changes were made:

• Guinea pigs spawn in the savanna biome
• Tamed with regular carrots
• Breed using beetroot, golden carrots, golden apples, and regular apples
• Carry pouches and alfalfa are not available in this version
