Hardcore Control Utility (HCU) (Slows Rushing)
The Hardcore Control Utility mod provides enhanced customization options for hardcore mode in both multiplayer sessions and single-player games.
Compatibility
Starting from Minecraft versions 1.19.2-1.19.4, the mod works with easy, normal, hard, adventure, and hardcore difficulty modes. When installed on a server, it doesn't require client-side installation on players' computers.
Key Features
Ghost Time
Upon death, characters transform into ghosts for a period ranging from 1 second to 61 years (default is 1 minute). During this time, movement is limited to within one meter of the respawn point.
Game example:
-
A seafarer dies to hostile creatures. The server has a 60-second ghost time setting. After respawning, the character floats invisibly above the spawn point with a countdown displayed on screen. Once the time expires, an audio signal announces the return to survival mode.
-
Builders overcome powerful monsters by setting up a bed with a supply of stone axes for repeated attacks. When the feature is activated with a one-minute delay, each death will pause the player for at least 60 seconds.
Version 3.3 feature: An administrator can instantly resurrect a player during ghost state by switching them to creative mode.
Experience Death Prevention
If a character has more than a specified experience level, hardcore death is replaced by standard death, involving only partial resource loss.
Simulation: A warrior with 21 levels dies when the threshold is set to 15 levels - normal death rules apply.
Partial Inventory Loss
Configurable loss probabilities:
- Armor (up to 33%)
- Equipment slots (up to 25%)
- General backpack items (up to 66%)
Game scenario: After defeat, the player loses pieces of equipment, some essential tools, and a significant portion of their backpack contents.
Mod features can be combined to create unique challenge settings for any gaming situation.
