Structured Progression System
This modification is organized into several technological ages, each presenting new challenges to overcome. The main goal is to make the process of reaching the Nether more engaging and complex by developing the potential of standard game mechanics. The initial stage remains unchanged - the first step still begins with harvesting wood by hand. Major changes occur after crafting wooden tools.
Changes to Standard Gameplay
Complex Tool Recipes
Stone tools require hemp fibers, which necessitates farming. This keeps wooden tools relevant for a longer period and encourages rapid expansion of hemp plantations.
Iron tools additionally require molding alongside hemp fibers. At this stage, progression mechanics become particularly important. Creating a saw and windmill for its operation is required, as well as leather tanning.
Golden tools require various exotic components. Each new golden tool unlocks access to craft the next one, gradually revealing the entire line.
Diamond tools are crafted in the mystical infuser and require the use of diamond ingots instead of regular diamonds. They can also be melted in a crucible for reuse.
Complex Ore Processing
Iron and gold ore need to be ground in a millstone. Smelting them requires a multi-block metallurgical forge. Both types of ore can be sieved using a rotary sieve to increase mining efficiency. Gold requires mandatory sieving before smelting.
Specialization of Golden Tools
Each golden tool and golden sword has a specific purpose. They are necessary for obtaining exotic components required for creating higher-level materials. They can be upgraded using diamond ingots to increase durability.
New Equipment
Metallurgical Forge
Capable of smelting iron, gold, and some other resources. All accepted blocks must fall, allowing partial automation of large smelting batches. Built from the forge base and four stone brick blocks around air space above the main block. Requires fire from below, which can be created using a fire pile - an early option for long-lasting fire requiring reloading with wooden planks and ignition with a torch. Stoked fire accelerates the smelting process.
Rotary Sieve
Accepts resources from the top and ejects sifted materials to the sides. Requires installation of a turntable below for spinning up and starting operation. All components are falling blocks, allowing process automation.
Monster Siphon
Used to extract energy from mob spawners and charge mystical stones. This machine is critically important for overcoming the golden age and powering the mystical infuser.
Mystical Infuser
A hybrid of a workbench and magical device, this workstation combines machines and tools with the energy of mystical stones. Requires creating a 5×5 floor of mystical infuser base blocks and four pillars of bookshelves four blocks high at the corners.
Mystical Devourer
A specialized block dispenser capable of performing all special abilities of golden tools, plus a new function of creating engraved obsidian.
Diamond Drill
A drilling rig for breaking obsidian into smaller pieces, necessary for creating carved obsidian and can be used to craft other obsidian blocks more efficiently.
Reinforced Mill Stone and Reinforced Saw
Specialized versions of BTW machines that cannot craft standard recipes but can produce new components unavailable by other means.
